I was born in Duncan, on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, June 1, 1955. An only child, my parents, Elwood, Elaine, and I lived in a little logging town called Gordon River outside of Honeymoon Bay until I was four. We moved to Nanaimo and early one morning when my grandparents were visiting, they whistled for me to come into their bedroom to snuggle and play. I loved lying in bed when they visited, as I was awake usually by 6am. I would lie in my bed in great anticipation waiting for my grandfather Ambrose to whistle, the signal that I could run in and jump into bed with them...This particular morning, the whistle came, so I ran in and went to the window in their guest room first. I looked out and I saw Jesus Christ. I remember looking into the most incredible eyes which embraced and filled my being with such incredible love. It was in that moment...calling for my grandmother to come and see Jesus that I consciously remembered Home...the fifth plane (Theta Healing) and my oneness with the Creator of All That Is. I will refer to the Creator or God throughout the GAINE Center as that is what I AM comfortable with. You may call God the Universal Force, Allah, Buddha, Shiva, Jesus or whatever you are comfortable with in your understanding of the Divine Force, the Oneness we all share.
From that moment on, my devotion and belief in God and Jesus were unshakeable. I have never once questioned their existence or that of the beings of light, ascended masters Angels, Fairies and other so called mythological beings. Throughout my life I have listened to ONE, followed the Voice of Creation through listening to His messages to me, not necessarily what was written in the Christian Bible. Although I refer to God as He, as it is what I AM comfortable with, I acknowledge the feminine of GOD as well.
My parents, according to my grandmother were very freaked out by my devoted and very insistent prayer sessions in our garden and home. LOL(laughing out loud), and I have to say that I kept them freaked out until they both passed over, my Dad in 1989 and my mother in 2000. To say I was different and still different would be an understatement.
My childhood was easy and fun. I excelled at school and sports and enjoyed many friendships which have endured through to today. By the time I was 16, I had met my future husband and I had told some of my friends that I would be marrying him and having four children...and so I did. Our marriage lasted 12 years. I loved my years as a stay at home mom and wife. We lived on 6 acres and I was able to raise chickens for eggs and grow our own vegetables and fruit completely organically. But by 1987, it became clear that I needed to pursue a spiritual path without my husband. My parents were not happy with my decision to divorce my husband. They thought I was crazy to think that I could take my four children, go back to school, get a business degree and then start a company and grow it into a global organization...They went as far as to call my minister, at the United Church in Nanaimo to tell him if I didn't stay married to my husband that my father would have me committed. Fortunately, my minister had been providing counselling to both my husband and I and he knew that I wasn't crazy. He knew I was in a lot of pain over tearing my family apart and trying to decide what was best overall. My minister knew that my major concern was that God would not forgive me if I divorced my husband and went with my children on a separate path. If was David who asked me why I hadn't considered that it was God calling me out of my marriage to be able to pursue my spiritual path and goals. Something I hadn't considered as my beliefs were holding to divorce was a sin.
Fortunately, David was one of a few of my friends who stood up to my parents and told them that they would have to come through him to commit me as there was absolutely nothing wrong with me. David called me that November 1987 and told me to avoid my parents for a while until he could assure they weren't going to try to "put me away" David's disclosure regarding my parents complete lack of understanding of what I was doing completely shattered my spirit and tore my heart apart. That was when I picked up my very first "healing book" by Louise Hay..."You can heal your life"
Not to be deterred by any negativity upon my determination to set out on my life journey, I registered for college in Nanaimo in the winter of 1988 to pick up the pre-requisites for completing a business degree at Simon Fraser University. The very first semester was a nightmare. I hadn't been back to school for 15 years and I was in such pain regarding my parents betrayal and the divorce that I could concentrate for about 1 minute at a time. I learned by osmosis for sure as I had no ability to focus. But I was driven by terror and wanting to prove my parents wrong about not believing in me. Almost the whole town of Nanaimo, B.C. not believing in me. Most people thought I was crazy to think that I could go back to school with four children, get a business degree, start a company and take it global.
So in May 1992, when the Dean of Simon Fraser University called my name to come up onstage to receive my Bachelor of Business Administration degree, I wanted to stand on that stage forever and yell to the world, See, I can do anything, I can do what so many people told me I couldn't and that I was "CRAZY" to think I could. It was magical for me that day, having my four children, my grandmother and my closest friends present to witness this pivotal moment in my life. They were all cheering loudly for me and I knew the moment that piece of paper was put in my hand, that nothing would or could get in the way of my plans but me. And boy did I try to get in my way!!!
By October 1992, I had 18 dollars left in my pocket and none of the jobs that I really thought I wanted, wanted me. I had been ignoring an opening at Equity Magazine for months but could no longer afford to, so I went in for the interview with Grant Longhurst. He hired me right away...My first job was as a telemarketer for the Equity Club Network, a discount book that was the brainchild of Michael Campbell, the editor-in-chief at the magazine. Within months I was the contract publisher. I had wanted to work for two years in sales before founding my company, and boy was this experience the sales training of all training. I was cold-calling and knocking on doors to try and sell the book...I ended up being the only person that could do it...although I think people took pity on me and bought the book when they found out I was a single mother of 4 children just starting out in the "real world" of business at 37 years old.
Michael Campbell and Grant Longhurst were great to me. I was making a tiny base salary ($1250 a month and my rent was $1010.00, you do the math) and commission so pre and post day care for Kaitlin and Wylie, my youngest children was almost impossible so they let me come to work after dropping the kids at school and then pick the kids up from school and either bring them back to work or work from home. They believed in family first and obviously trusted my work ethic.
I discovered the Internet in 1993 and met Paul Harris of ProStar during a sales call. He had a software package called the Mini-Cat that would allow anyone WITHOUT any html experience to create a web-site. Paul and I began discussing the possibility of creating the MasterMall...a one stop shopping online for businesses to sell their products and services. Together with Michael Campbell we put together some seminars to explain to business owners the benefits of the Internet. Those first seminars were hilarious in 1993/94 as you can imagine trying to explain how you could create a business in cyberspace.
In late 1994, a woman came into Equity Magazine looking for me and wanted to create an advertising campaign for her business. She talked to Mike and as he knew that I wanted to start my company, he said, we don't do what she wants to do Catherine, so why don't you start your company. So late 1994, I founded Strategic Profits Inc. and C.N. Wylie Group Inc. So right on schedule I was off and running with my companies.
In 1996, I met Lee Luckhurst, my second husband until 2004. A genius, a loving, kind and generous man. His three brilliant and beautiful daughters Sarah, Jessica, and Tyra were blessings in my life.
In 2004 just as my divorce from Lee was becoming final, I met my third husband Giovanni Pagliaro. We were married in May 2005 and live in Toronto, Ontario. My son Kyle continues to live in Vancouver, my daughter Jen lives in New York studying acting, while Kaitlin and Wylie live in Toronto and work with me at C.N. Wylie Group Inc.. I am blessed with a delightful and amazing 4 year old grandson.
So I have gone from being a single parent with $18 left to my name in the fall of 1992 to a thrice married grandmother of one with a group of companies worth millions today. I have gone from being motivated by TERROR and proving myself, having my body caught in permanent fight or flight mode to a progressive peaceful, joyful motivation. (Still a work in progress, but moving swiftly now) Our Helpforcharities.com Inc. company is enabling charities to fundraise online in over 20 countries. We are global! The first twenty year vision is complete. I am onto the next 20 years.
I have been blessed to always know I had a purpose for coming back to the Planet. I came to understood that I was to merge my many life times of experience as a Spiritual Teacher/Healer with my many lifetimes as nobility and successful entrepreneur/land owner(not always the nicest of business people in a few of those lifetimes I AM told). The plan before returning into this body was to bring that experience together to create a global spiritual corporate paradigm to facilitate positive change and sustainable living for all on the planet through Loving, Joyful, and Peaceful Beingness. To change my reality from a Human DOing to really BEing a Human BEing.
I AM determined to fulfill my purpose, my spiritual experience as a human being. To ascend while still in this body. It was my profound faith in Creator that gave me the strength and courage to set my goals and take action to make them happen back in the summer of 1987, no matter what was swirling around me. From the time I was four, through to today, it is my faith in Creator that allows me to stand up in the truth, to BE the truth no matter how many people might disagree or try to stop me...because it is Creators path I walk upon and His power that works through me in His Divine Timing. And it is your divine right to have everything you deserve in this lifetime.
And so it is that today, August 22, 2008, is the launch of the co-created GAINE Center for Spiritual Advancement.
The GAINE site buttons, show my personal favourite healing modalities, Vianna Stibal's Theta Healing, Reiki, Angels and Jin Shin Jitsu. I have a great love of animals, so of course the Power Animals is part of my favourites as well. I have found the very best personal results with my favourites and will have my Doctorate in Theta Healing by 2009. I am a Theta Teacher/Practitioner in Basic, Advanced, Manifesting and Abundance, an Intuitive Anatomy Practitioner completing my Teachers Certificate in Intuitive Anatomy and Rainbow Children in October/Nov 2008. I AM a Reiki Master in USUI, SSR and Karuna Ki. I have just completed my first 5 day class in the Art of Jin Shin Jitsu. The Art of Physio-Philosophy! After about 8 sessions with Sharlene Friedman a certified Jin Shin Jitsu practitioner, I went on my annual 4 day retreat with my three dearest friends of of 39 years. The first night they told me they hadn't seen me that calm in 30 years. They were astounded at the difference in me. The work is amazing.
Over time we look forward to offering you a directory of every type of healing modality. None of the healing modalities on this site, or any that I practise or teach is intended to replace traditional medical practitioners or practises in any way. In 1975/ 76 I took the registered nurses training at B.C.I.T. in Burnaby B.C.! At 20 years old I believed that traditional medicine and alternative healing modalities could be designed to best meet the needs of each individual to bring them back into harmonic balance for perfect health. It is critical that any person with health issues must work with the permission of their traditional doctor/nurse health practitioner to assure favourable results.
The purpose of telling you a little of my life to date is to share with you a few of my experiences of setting up obstacles and roadblocks to having exactly the life I wanted, effortlessly. To share with you that any time you want to, you can change your reality when you are ready to DECIDE to take action to do so.
I have remembered how to change my reality any time I want to by finding and utilizing the healing modalities that worked for me. You can too, by finding the healing tools that will work for you. I expect miracles, therefore they occur. You can too. You just have to want to! Everything you need is available to you within yourself and our global community of teachers and healing practitioners.
And so it is that I AM, IAM, I AM! I love you!
